In the summer of 2023, the Home Office ordered that cartoon murals in children's asylum centres be painted over as the colourful animations were considered to be too welcoming.

In response, positive action group '38 Degrees' asked several top cartoonists to create drawings about life and culture in Britain, which resulted in a children's colouring book.

Our wonderful volunteer, Maggie Berrill, managed to get hold of 30 copies of the book which was positively received by children at the Re-Act playgroup. The remaining copies will go into Welcome Packs for new arrivals.
